Member Spotlight April 2020: Tylo Broszeit

Tylo Broszeit is in our Athlete Spotlight this month!

He plays both golf and volleyball, and has played in several competitive golf tournaments.  He played for the Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf volleyball team and won three straight championships when he played against other schools in Ontario.

Tylo began playing with his golf club when he was four years old and today, he is still playing golf. He has participated in many junior golf tournaments in Manitoba since the age of 12. His first Deaf golf tournament was at the 13th CDGC 2017 in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec but he also played in the golf scramble during the 11th CDGC 2013 in Winnipeg, Manitoba for fun.

Tylo was the winner of the men’s competition in the 57th Annual Ontario Deaf Golf Championship in Severn, Ontario in 2019. He placed 3rd in the men’s competition in the 56th Annual Ontario Deaf Golf Championship in Guelph, Ontario in 2018. He received two awards from the Manitoba Deaf Golf Club. In 2017, he received the Fir Winner award and in 2018 received the Most Improved Player award.

His most recent accomplishment is being selected for the Team Canada Men’s Elite Team heading to Birmingham, England. This competition was originally scheduled for August 7-15, 2020 but has been postponed due to the worldwide pandemic.
